RUC forced to return Felons chairs
Dickie Glenholmes, treasurer of the Felons Club in Belfast
took charge of the 50 chairs returned to the club by the RUC
last Thursday, 29 June.
Last year, the RUC accused the Felons of handling stolen goods
and took the chairs away, but two weeks ago the courts ruled in
favour of the club.
The RUC was ordered to return the chairs, but the club had
since bought new chairs as replacements and are now offering the
chairs to any youth club or voluntary organisation who may have
need of them.
Felons chairperson Liam Shannon has accused the RUC of
carrying out a vendetta against the club. He said the RUC knew
all along that the chairs were purchased legitimately.
