Hartley harassed

REACTING to the increased number of complaints of RUC harassment that Sinn Fein offices have received in the last week, SF Councillor Tom Hartley has said ``the presence of the RUC and British Army is inflicting pain and grief by their provocative actions and petty harassment.''

Hartley was speaking on Monday after he himself was harassed by the RUC as he left for the City Hall to sign the book for peace. He added that despite the heavy presence of crown forces in nationalist areas ``loyalists are able to operate with impunity.''

Hartley has called on British Security Minister Adam Ingram ``to immediately withdraw his forces from all nationalist areas to allow the community to go about their daily business free from harassment and intimidation.''
