‘Free Derry’ Wall repaired
‘Free Derry’ Wall repaired

Free Derry Corner, a listed tourist attraction, has been restored by a group of republicans.

The Wall, which reads ‘You are now entering Free Derry’, has been a landmark of nationalist resisitance to british rule for decades.

It has been the focal point of protests and confrontations over the decades. However, it had become damaged over the years through weather erosion and environmental stress.

The wall has now been replastered and repainted and a new flagpole erected on top.

Derry Sinn Féin has thanked those who voluntarily helped to restore the wall.
