Chilcot report sheds no light on raid
Responding to a written comment from British Secretary of State Paul Murphy in the House of Commons, revealing a limited summary of the Chilcot report into the raid on the Special Branch offices at Castlereagh, Sinn Féin Policing spokesperson Gerry Kelly said "this summary sheds no light on who was responsible.
"The IRA have said that they were not involved. All of the evidence points to the involvement of elements of the intelligence agencies in this raid.
"The accusation that the IRA was duped into carrying out the raid after an elaborate set-up by these same agencies is designed to divert attention from the real perpetrators. It has been used to undermine the Good Friday Agreement and destabilise the peace process itself."
