New paper bank in Clonakilty

Clonakilty Sinn Féin Town Councillor Cionnaith Ó Súilleabháin has welcomed the introduction of a newspaper and cardboard recycle bank in the town.

"This facility will be much used in the town, and has been in demand for several years," said Ó Súilleabháin. "In fact, while canvassing during the recent general election campaign, this was an issue that arose on more than one occasion in Clonakilty and other West Cork towns and villages.

"We should all be recycling as much of our household waste as possible, but there is also an obligation on the local authorities to provide facilities to encourage recycling.

"I urge everyone in Clonakilty to make maximum use of the new Paper Bank, by bringing their weekly newspapers, magazines, etc. to the facility and want to acknowledge the County Council for putting it in place."
