Gribben contests Antrim by-election
Áine Gribben (37) will represent Sinn Féin in the by-election for the Antrim Town ward of Antrim Borough Council on 15 May.
Gribben is from Antrim Town and is a highly respected local community advocate and activist, with a particular interest in community empowerment, women's rights, senior citizens' issues and youth and child-care matters.
She is a highly active and long serving committee member of the Rathenraw Community Association, where she remains at the forefront of community development issues. Also, she is currently a member of the board of governors at the Rathenraw Integrated School.
If elected, Gribben will be the only woman councillor on a council of 18 men.
Her election campaign is based on Sinn Féin policies that advocate radical political change and an end to the outdated unionist domination of politics on Antrim Borough Council.
