Adams visits North Kerry

Sinn Féin President, Gerry Adams received a huge welcome from the people of North Kerry when he visited Ballybunion, Listowel, Castleisland and Tralee to promote Councillor Martin Ferris' general election campaign in North Kerry.

Speaking at a press conference in Tralee's Grand hotel on Thursday 21 March, Adams called on the establishment parties in the constituency to stop their negative campaigning againest Councillor Ferris and address the electorate regarding the real issues. These include inadequate health provision, rural decline, social isolation, poverty and the ongoing drugs crisis as well as the road/rail infrastructure.

Adams also met with members of the farming community and the voluntary sector before visiting an exhibition dealing with violence against women at Siamsa theatre and arts centre.
