Waterford is awake

Over the last three years, Sinn Féin in Waterford has embarked on a process of building. Since the formation of the Cathal Brugha Cumann in the city, which has over 40 members, the party has gone from strength to strength. Developments in the city have been matched in the county with active cumainn in Dungarvan, Tramore, Ring and Kilmacthomas. Sinn Féin is now representative of the constituency as a whole, from north to south, east to west.

That development has now culminated with the selection of david Cullinane as general election candidate for the Waterford constituency. "Sinn Féin has been the most active political party in this constituency in recent years, working hard on the ground, working for people," he said at his alaction launch last week. "Our fresh and honest politics is an alternative to the failed and corrupt politics of the right wing establishment. Our politics of putting people first, is an alternative to putting the interests of big business first. Our politics of equality for all, is an alternative to enforcing inequality. Our politics of sharing the wealth of the nation equally, is an alternative to widening the gap between rich and poor. Our politics of cherishing all of the children equally is an alternative to social exclusion, depravation and poverty. Our politics is the only real alternative. Our caring, socialist policies recognise the difference between rights and privilege."
