MacLochlainn to replace Nelis in Derry

Derry Sinn FŽin Council leader Gerry î hEara has welcomed the announcement by Derry Comhairle Cheantair that Gerry MacLochlainn will be replacing Mary Nelis on Derry City Council. Nelis is resigning her council seat to concentrate on her work in the Assembly.

"Since 1993, Mary Nelis worked tirelessly for the people of Derry. Her absence will be a loss to the council, but it is the Assembly's gain and I am sure she will continue to represent all of the people of Foyle," said î hEara.

"Gerry MacLochlainn will be a valuable addition to our council team and will help ensure that Sinn FŽin continues to provide effective leadership and representation to our increasing support, both in the Northlands Ward and throughout the city."
