Adams visits Finglas

BY NATALIE SHERIDAN

Sinn Féin president Gerry Adams and West Tyrone MP Pat Doherty visited Dublin North West last week to canvass with local Sinn Féin election candidate, Councillor Dessie Ellis.

Many locals were taken by surprise as the Sinn Féin team arrived and delighted shoppers by stopping to have a chat with them. Word spread quickly and people from all over the Omni Shopping Centre waited patiently to meet the Sinn Féin leader.

Speaking to An Phoblacht, Gerry Adams said: "Dessie Ellis has been part of the Dublin Sinn Féin team for three years now as a councillor and the work he has carried out on behalf of the local community as well as for Sinn Féin has been tremendous.

"I think he has worked very hard for the local people on issues such as housing, a better healthcare system and many other issues which affect everyone. I think the work that has been carried out by Cllr Ellis over the past three years will show results in the forthcoming general election."

Adams launches Dublin Central campaign

Gerry Adams was in a packed St Finbarr's GAA Club in Cabra on Wedesday night, 10 April, to launch the general election campaign of Nicky Kehoe, who is confident that he can spring a surprise in Taoiseach Bertie Ahern's constituency.
