[An Phoblacht]

Tim and Helen O'Sullivan

Tim O'Sullivan from Killarney, County Kerry, aged 88, who lived in Luton when he left Ireland 60 years ago and then the last 40 years in Leicester, died after an illness on 4 September 2001. Tim's wife, Helen, aged 69, has since passed away on Thursday, 18 October, which has come as a great shock to all their family and many friends in Leicester. They were the heart and soul of the Irish community in Leicester and will be missed by so many people. The were steadfast supporters of the POWs in English jails and those ex-prisoners will remember all the Christmas cards, birthday cards and Easter lilies.

Helen was a great singer and had all the good songs and such spirit and happiness always within her. They will be missed by everyone in Leicester and Killarney who had the pleasure of knowing them both. They radiated happiness and their love of Ireland and helped all those who came their way. Their loyalty to justice and a 32-county peaceful Ireland never faltered. May they both rest in peace.
