New resource centre for Monaghan

A family resource centre to cater for the social needs of the Monaghan town areas of Mullaghmatt and Cortolvin was launched on 23 March with the turning of the first sod by Cavan/Monaghan Sinn Féin TD Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin. The facility will cater for childcare, training, adult education, advisory and community support services.

Speaking at the ceremony, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin praised the ``commitment, dedication and tireless energy of the committee, which has brought this initiative to fruition''.

He continued: ``While this is not a panacea for the absence of critical investment in the wider Mullaghmatt area over many years, it is nonetheless a positive indicator that change and change for the good, is at last being delivered.''
