In loving memory of Volunteers Gerard Harte and Martin Harte, who were killed in action by the SAS at Drumnakilly with their comrades Volunteer Brian Mullin on Tuesday 30 August 1988. When the freedom of our country has been won let us cherish it with pride, but remember it was paid for by the blood of those who gave their lives for Irish freedom. WE IN THE National `81 office would lime to take this oportunity to thank all those individuals and groups who made the special celebration and commemoration program on Caement Park to the Hunger Strikers such a special occasion. The effort that everyone made was clearly seen on the day. We can be all proud that everything weny so well, and that although the rain dampened is it did not dampen our spirits. It would be be impossible to thank everyone individually but we feel we must mention the children who worked so hard rehearsing in the rain on the previous days. Such entusiasm from and indeed from all the children who were there in whatever capacity is heart warming. It ensures that the legacy of the Hunger Strikers will be passed down through generations.
