New SF office opened in Carrickmacross

A new Sinn Féin office was opened in Carrickmacross last Saturday. This is the second of three planned offices for the Cavan/Monaghan constituency. The official opening was performed by Sinn Féin's sole TD, Caoimhghín Ó Caoláin. Also in attendance were local Carrickmacross and South Monaghan councillors Matt Carthy and Noel Keelan.

A large group of local supporters attended the event, including the Chairperson of the County Monaghan Comhairle Ceantair of Sinn Féin, Seán McCoy, Monaghan County Councillor Brian MacUaid and Monaghan UDC member Gerry Loughran.

The Carrickmacross office at 32A Main Street completes the second phase of the Cavan/Monaghan constituency office network. The third and final office project will see the location of a new Sinn Féin office in Cavan town by the autumn which will represent a critical advance of the organisation in that end of the constituency. Ó Caoláin commended the SF organisation in Carrickmacross and the South Monaghan Electoral Area on their achievement and wished the local councillors success. He confidently predicting that the party would secure additional seats on Carrickmacross UDC and on Monaghan County Council come the next local government elections, scheduled for 2004.
