Sinn Féin calls on CIRA to disband
Following the bomb explosion in Irvinestown, County Fermanagh on Sunday, 6 February, Sinn Féin's Martin McGuinness unequivocally condemned the attack by the self-styled Continuity IRA and called on them to disband.
``I am relieved that no one was injured in the explosion,'' said McGuinness. ``According to news reports the explosion occurred following a warning from the Continuity IRA. If this is accurate, and I have no reason to believe otherwise, I condemn it unequivocally.
``The people responsible for this bomb are not acting in the interests of republicanism or of the Irish people. They have no support in our community and should disband.''
