Derry republican on loyalist hit list
Veteran Derry republican Barry McFadden has been told by the RUC that he is on a loyalist death list and that he should take ``immediate precautions''.
The RUC arrived at McFadden's Bogside home on Saturday 1 April and informed the former Sinn Féin councillor that his life was in danger.
Sinn Féin's Cathal Crumley says that ``the seriousness of this should not be underestimated. As in so many other cases with Nationalists in the North, Mr McFadden was not given any information on the source of the threat, how long the RUC was in possession of the information and if his personal files are missing.
``The issues of how long the RUC had this information, what other information on other intended targets they possess and how widespread these latest alleged threats are have to be addressed by the RUC.''
