Sectarian attack
Catholic couple Martin and Mary Stevenson and their three children, including a four month old infant in a pram, were attacked by a sectarian gang as they did their shopping in the County Down village of Annalong last Saturday, 4 April.
A relative said Martin was set on by a gang of four men as he waited for his wife outside shops.
When the man's wife Mary attempted to intervene she was also beaten and her head was split open, said the relative. The gang then tried to throw Martin over the harbour wall but ran off when the alarm was raised and local residents ran to the scene.
Local Sinn Fein talks delegate and councillor, Mick Murphy said ``nationalists were furious at this latest brutal assault''.
