Going down for laughs

I Went Down.

I Went Down is an Irish gangster road movie. Git (Peter McDonald) is just out of prison and is heart-broken at losing his girlfriend to his best mate, Anto. His return to his local proves to be the beginning of a comic adventure with non-stop twists. By saving Anto from hammer-wielding hoods Git finds himself in trouble with their boss, the local Mr Big.

Git and the hilarious hard man Bunny (Brendan Gleeson) are sent on a mission to clear their `debts'. Their must kidnap a criminal associate of Mr Big.

Frank, their kidnapping target, would talk his way out of anything. Bunny, on the other hand, is often stuck for words Together they make a ridiculously funny combination while Git appears almost virginal in the presence of these well-worn gangsters.

Git and Bunny find themselves alone and in danger, but an unlikely partnership forms and the comedy just keeps coming.

I Went Down is definitely one to see - great performances from Peter McDonald and Brendan Gleeson and an excellent soundtrack accompany a memorable story.
