DEMPSEY, John (16th Ann). Proud memories of my soldier son, John Dempsey, Na Fianna Éireann, who died on active service on 8 July 1981. Dear son your smile and your innocence is forever on my mind. It broke my heart to lose you. But you did not go alone. They buried me with you on that sad and lonely day. May you sleep in God's kingdom with all of Ireland's Volunteers. Special memories of courageous Volunteer and hunger striker Joe McDonnell. Good night my son, all my love. From your Daddy.
