Sinn Féin score big at UCG

Galway is dripping in victory this week. The entire county is celebrating the All Ireland title and once again, Sinn Féin has come out top among the Political Parties at Ollscail na hÉireann, Gaillimh (UCG). Societies Day, held on Tuesday 24 September, showed an increased number of students, both male and female, joining the Sinn Féin university cumann. The biggest suprise of the day was the overwhelming number of students from the West of Ireland who joined Sinn Féin, highlighting the party's growing popularity in Connaught.

Fianna Fáil had attempted to upstage Sinn Féin by towing in a large campaigns lorry and strategically placing derogatory posters about Sinn Féin around campus but these tactics failed miserably when up to 200 students realised who the real Republican Party was and signed up to join Galwy University Sinn Féin.
