Mayors lobby to keep city status

The Sinn Féin Mayor of Sligo, Alderman Seán MacManus, will be among a delegation of five mayors meeting Environment Minister Noel Dempsey TD at Leinster House today, Thursday 9 November. The delegation are bidding to persuade the 26-County government not to abolish corporation borough status for the cities of Sligo, Kilkenny, Wexford, Drogheda and Clonmel.
