Kevin Fitzgerald O'Dowd

Kevin O'Dowd, born and raised in Philadelphia but more recently of San Francisco, was an Irish American activist who worked for the cause of Irish republicanism. Over the last seven years, he especially dedicated himself to the cause of the anti-extradition cases of the H-Block escapees.

Kevin died on the morning of 9 December, aged just 27, after a hard fight against pancreatic cancer.

He is survived by his mother, Monica, his father, John, his siblings John, Monica, James, and Maureen, and his lifelong love Ann Lindsay. He is also survived by his nephew Sean Joseph O'Dowd, and his nieces Grace Marie O'Dowd, and Jacquelyn and Jessica Hoffman.

Kevin leaves many bereaved relatives and friends throughout the United States, Ireland, and the worldwide Irish diaspora.
