Alec Fullerton

The death took place recently in Buncrana of Alec Fullerton - a cousin of murdered Sinn Féin councillor Eddie Fullerton.

A father of seven boys and three girls, Alec was a quiet, inoffensive man, who held very deep Republican ideals.

As Donegal Sinn Féin Councillor Jim Ferry put it, ``Alec was not the sort of man to publicly air his views in debate, but come election time he was the first person to come knocking on my door to offer his aid at a polling booth - usually Urris, which is one of the most isolated areas in Donegal.

``We in Donegal Sinn Féin and the North West in general, offer our sincere condolences to his sons Alec Jnr, Neil, Cathal, Liam, Joey, Noel and Eamonn and to his daughters Teresa, Celine and Madeline and to his extended family and friends.''
